The Chartered Police of Navarre attacked students who attempted to protest the fee increases of public education in the old kingdom. Several were injured.
Navarre, having fiscal self-rule, should not be affected by the draconian cuts in social services decreed by Madrid but the Neo-Fascist Spanish Nationalist government decided to go on and mimic every decision made by their overlords.
This sparked student protests in the wake of the new course, protests that were violently smashed by Navarrese police forces.
Further damages were prevented by the Rector, who did not authorize police to charge with batons and other weapons.
