Japan: growing antinuclear tide protests

This week it was twice in Tokyo: on Friday before the Prime Minister's palace, as has been happening for the last month, and then again on Sunday before the Diet (Parliament).

A self-appointed organizer committee decided unilaterally to change the protest from the usual Friday at Noda's place to Sunday at the Diet... so in the end there have been two demos.

Friday's at Noda's Palace

Today at the Diet

This latter demo has gathered maybe 200,000 people, a figure that was already reached in some of the previous Friday protests. Two people were arrested after the demo took over the traffic lanes, something apparently illegal in Japan.
