Madrid: police evicts protesters to make room for the Pope and his fascists

Yesterday morning 50 police vans removed the information point at Puerta del Sol and the camp at Paseo del Prado.

The emblematic plaza has been guarded by strong police forces since then. For many hours the metro and train stations were closed as well.

The evicted and sympathizers wandered around Madrid looking for another spot to camp. They went to the Congress (lower house of parliament) in spite of being closed because of vacations. However they found this site also strongly guarded by police forces. Then they established an information point in the Plaza Mayor but this one was also evicted by police forces.

Two people were arrested.

The understanding is that this eviction has been done to "clean" Madrid for another stupid visit of that stupid and fascist Pope. The Spanish state is wasting in this show of fundamentalist Christians as much money as budgetary cuts have been made in education, go figure.
